Why Off-Ice Training Matters
Ice time in Manitoba is limited and expensive. Off-ice training develops the strength, speed, and conditioning that translates to better on-ice performance.
Training by Age Group
Ages 6-9: Movement and Coordination
Focus on active play: obstacle courses, ball sports, stickhandling at home, balance challenges.
Ages 10-12: Building Athletic Foundations
Bodyweight squats and lunges, push-ups, planks, lateral movements, sprint intervals, shooting practice.
Ages 13-15: Strength and Speed Development
Goblet squats, single-leg exercises, plyometrics, core work, bike intervals and hill sprints.
Ages 16+: Performance Training
Barbell training, Olympic lifts (with coaching), speed training, mobility work, and recovery protocols.
